FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RALEIGH, N.C.,  June 3, 2025 - Burt Rosen, an expert in nonprofit leadership, joins DickersonBakker as Senior Consulting Associate. With over 50 years of experience in leading nonprofit organizations, Rosen brings a visionary approach to complex challenges.

“We are thrilled to have Burt on our team," says Derric Bakker, President & CEO of DickersonBakker. "I regard him as being among the best Christian leaders I've ever worked with."

Drawing on his extensive background, Rosen applies an innovative, visionary approach to strategically manage complex environments, aiming to build strong, cohesive leadership teams and boards. In Rosen’s role as Senior Consulting Associate, he’ll have the ability to take on a limited number of client engagements.

"As a former DickersonBakker client, I've always admired who they are and what they do. Now, I’m excited to have the opportunity to consult with their clients and contribute to enhancing the Kingdom work they support,” says Rosen.

Rosen’s career spans over five decades, with significant roles in both the correctional and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, Rosen served as President and CEO of Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM), where he successfully turned around the organization’s financial stability and growth, launching a major donor program and reorganizing staff and programs.

“Under Burt’s leadership, KARM gained a well-earned reputation for being on the cutting edge of service; many of the most innovative programs being offered at homeless ministries today started at KARM and replicated at other rescue missions across the nation,” says Bakker.

Rosen’s knack for fundraising led to a very successful major giving program at KARM that resulted in exponential increases in year over year giving, which also led two successful capital campaigns that resulted in major improvements to their facilities.

“Having him onboard provides our clients a unique opportunity to work alongside and learn from one of the most highly respected and experienced leaders in the Christian ministry sector,” says Bakker.

“As someone who has recently retired from leadership roles in ministry, including 20 years at the helm of a successful homeless ministry, I still have plenty of energy which I want to devote to my family and to nonprofits that can benefit from my experience. I’m passionate about investing in other leaders and organizations in meaningful ways,” says Rosen.

In addition to his consulting work, Rosen and his wife started Hold On To Hope in 2022, a nonprofit organization focused on providing support, encouragement and hope to those with a missing loved one. This personal mission was born from their own experience when their son, Matthew, went missing 25 years ago. After years of waiting, the Rosen family was reunited with their son in May of 2025, bringing a sense of hope and fulfillment to their personal journey.
